Bart’s Story

I came to executive coaching after spending over 40 years in media and journalism. Most of that time was spent in senior leadership roles (see below), responsible for directing large, innovative and dynamic teams in competitive, high-pressure, results oriented environments - from a global news network to a ground breaking digital start-up. The only constant in my career was the inevitable necessity to lead through change and transitions, big and small. Maybe I haven’t seen it all - but I’ve seen an awful lot. As much as I enjoyed and appreciated the awards, ratings and commercial successes that my teams earned, my greatest professional satisfaction came in seeing the men and women whom I managed and mentored achieve their own career success and personal happiness.

In 2021, when I left my last post running a New York TV station friends started asking if I was planning to “retire”. No way. I look forward to spending the rest of my working days sharing my experience and knowledge through the practice of executive coaching. My life’s lessons, in addition to outstanding training, have prepared me to coach at any level in any business or organization. I received my certification through the iCoach Professional Coaching Program where I had the benefit of learning from four of the best coaches in the business. I now have the privilege of serving on the faculty of iCoach Global.

I have earned an PCC Credential from the International Coaching Federation and have been certified in EQi 2.0 and EQI 360 assessments. There is no doubt that emotional intelligence is a crucial component of leadership success. I am also a Certified Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), a leading assessment tool for development related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I am also certified in Harrison Assessments , Clark Wilson 360 Feedback Surveys, and the Team Performance Model. I have completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program through the UMASS Memorial Medical Center.

My wife Karen and I have been married for 36 years and are the proud parents of three terrific young adults and two wonderful dogs. As a family we have been involved for more than 15 years in supporting and visiting students at several schools in Cambodia. My other passions include yoga, meditation and my library of presidential biographies and memoirs.
